DRINKING, FEEDING & BREATHING
Three of the basic needs of all animal life are:
b]. food
c]. oxygen
- Water is vital to almost all life forms, especially ruminants.
- Food supplies the essential building blocks for growth, repair and reproduction.
- It also provides energy for chemical reactions in the body, and for the performance of work.
- To release this energy, sugars and fats are 'burned' - a process that demands a supply of oxygen.
Oxygen is free and abundant so we need to focus on food/nutrition and what influences it.
